Todd Claypool

Executive Director and Counselor

MDiv, M.S., KLPC, LPCA

Todd is a retired US Army Chaplain serving over 29 years in the military. His specific education and unique experiences enrich his skills in working with people in some of life's most joyous and difficult times. He and his wife have led numerous marriage, family, and individual relationship retreats, seminars, countless Bible studies, and personal life-skill growth training events in diverse settings.


Compassionate and caring, he is an excellent listener and gifted counselor with marriage and family ministry expertise. 


Todd enjoys being outdoors, spending time with his family, hanging out with his dog Eli, and hobby farming in his spare time. 

Carrie Claypool

Relationship Education and Community Engagement

MDiv

Carrie is a wife, mother, and grandmother who values family, faith, and community as central to her life and ministry. Alongside these roles, she is a caretaker at heart, raising goats and chickens, reflecting a deep appreciation for creation, stewardship, and simple, grounded living.


She is a graduate of Boyce College with a degree in communication and of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity, equipping her for pastoral care, biblical teaching, and Christ-centered ministry.


In her role with Capernaum Care, she serves as the Director of Relationship Education and Community Engagement. Her focus is on supporting wholeness—mind, body, spirit, and soul—through Christ-centered care and meaningful connection within the community.


She is committed to walking alongside individuals and families as they grow toward healing, healthy relationships, and a life rooted in Christ.


Board of Directors

Rusty Newton

Rusty and his wife Mary Jo have been married for 41 years and are the proud parents of an adult son and daughter. He has been an active member of Bagdad Baptist Church for 47 years serving as deacon for 43 years. Rusty was self a self-employed business owner of B &N Food Market for 26 years. He served as Deputy Judge Executive for Shelby County Fiscal Court from 2005 – 2016 and currently serves as Occupational Tax Administrator for Shelby County Fiscal Court. Rusty also served as Fire Chief for the Bagdad Fire Protection District from 2003-2023. He is a member of the Bagdad Ruritan Club (a community service organization) where he currently serves as President.


Charlie and Beverly Harrod

Owner - Blaster Tools and Supply

Charles and Beverly have been happily married since May 2009 and are proud parents of three adult children. As long-time members of Bagdad Baptist Church, they have actively contributed to their faith community. Additionally, since 2013, they have owned and operated Blasters Tool and Supply Company.

Rev. Harry Herbert

Pastor - Christiansburg Baptist Church

Harry and Robin Herbert have celebrated 35 years of marriage, and they are proud parents of three grown daughters and grandparents to three grandchildren. Harry, a graduate of Louisville Bible College, has faithfully shepherded churches and ministries in Kentucky for over 25 years. Currently, he serves as the pastor of Christiansburg Baptist Church in Shelby County, Kentucky.


Rev. Kyle Wiley

Pastor - Bagdad Baptist Church

Pastor Kyle has faithfully served in ministry for 35 years, contributing his gifts and talents to four different churches in various roles. Currently, he serves as the Pastor of Bagdad Baptist Church. Alongside him on this journey is his wife, Amanda, with whom he has shared 30 years of marriage. Their three daughters actively serve both within the church and the broader community.
